Inland Ash Scattering Singapore - The Life Celebrant

Burials & Cremations

Inland Ash Scattering Singapore

A Return to Nature

IAS.png

At The Life Celebrant, we offer inland ash scattering as a meaningful and eco-conscious alternative to traditional burial or columbarium placement.

Increasingly encouraged by the Singapore government as a sustainable farewell option, inland ash scattering allows your loved one to return gently to the earth — their final resting place the natural landscape of Singapore itself.

Inland Ash Scattering Gardens in Singapore

Singapore has two dedicated inland ash scattering facilities, both managed by the National Environment Agency (NEA) and open to families of all religious faiths and backgrounds. Each offers a serene, open-garden setting where your loved one can return gently to the earth in a dignified and peaceful environment.

Garden of Peace, Choa Chu Kang

The Garden of Peace at Choa Chu Kang is Singapore's established inland ash scattering facility, welcoming families of all religious faiths and backgrounds. Set within a tranquil, open-garden landscape, it provides a dignified and serene setting for this meaningful final act.

The North Gate is located along Old Choa Chu Kang Road, adjacent to bus stop number 31139. The South Gate is located at the junction of Cemetery South Street 18 and Muslim Cemetery Path 11.

Garden of Serenity, Mandai North

The Garden of Serenity at Mandai North is Singapore's newest inland ash scattering facility, offering families in the north of the island a peaceful and accessible alternative to Choa Chu Kang.

Like the Garden of Peace, it is a secular, open-garden space welcoming people of all faiths and backgrounds. Our team will advise you on the most suitable location based on your family's needs and preferences.

Our team will handle the entire booking process on your behalf — from submitting the application on the NEA ePortal and preparing the required documents, to accompanying your family on the day. You do not need to navigate this alone.

  • The process of land ash scattering at the Garden of Peace is a sacred and thoughtful journey. Once your booking is completed and payments made, you will receive a confirmation slip, marking the beginning of this special tribute. With the confirmation slip in hand, you can bring the cremated remains of your loved one to the Ash Collection Centre. Here, the compassionate staff of NEA will assist you in transforming these remains into a fine, powdered form, a gentle and respectful preparation for scattering.

You will be provided with a one-time use canister to hold the ashes, although you are welcome to use a personal canister if you prefer. This part of the process is handled with utmost sensitivity, acknowledging the deep significance of these moments.

As you enter the Garden of Peace, you may wish to spend a moment in reflection or prayer at the facility located outside the North Gate. This quiet space allows for a personal and intimate farewell before proceeding to the scattering lane. There, amidst the natural serenity, you can scatter the ashes of your loved one onto the pebbles or gently into the soil, a symbolic gesture of returning them to the earth. This act is done with reverence, respecting the sanctity of the land space and the memories of those who rest there.

We kindly remind you that the Garden of Peace is a place of tranquillity and reflection. Therefore, performing religious ceremonies, burning offerings, playing music, or placing objects within the garden are not permitted, ensuring that the peace and dignity of the environment are maintained for all who come to remember their loved ones. We are here to support you through every step of this process, offering guidance and understanding to make this farewell as meaningful and comforting as possible.
